The submarine USS Trumpetfish (SS-425) underway off the coast of Puerto Rico. The ship is participating in Unitas XII, twelfth in a series of annual antisubmarine warfare training exercises conducted by Latin American and United States Navy units. Photo taken 27 July 1971. Commissioned on 29 Jan. 1946, Received a Guppy II conversion in 1947 and a Guppy III conversion in 1961. Member of the Cuban Blockade Force in 1962. Decommissioned on 15 Oct. 1973 when it was struck from the Navy List and sold to Brazil.
