RDG006009 This area of NMRI research has also included the development of telemetering and microcalorimetry devices used in the nations manned space flight program, radiation tolerance studies relation to the manning of nuclear ships, and studies of oxygen requirements and toxicity having application in submarine operations. These facilities are used in seeking answers to the problems facing small groups working under isolated conditions, and the studies relate directly to prolonged submerged submarine cruises. A complex array of electronic equipment, including television, is employed in controlling subject-environmental conditions, and in monitoring responses and task performances.
