RDG006003 The Navys ultimate application of some NMRI research is not always apparent immediately, but to meet the challenges of tomorrow, preparations must be made today. The Naval Medical Research Institute is conducting a program of biomedical research which, in the best Navy tradition, not only meets present needs but also looks toward the future. This photograph is a portrait of a man who, based on the white coat he wears, works as a doctor or researcher at the Naval Medical Research Institute. The portrait appears to have been taken through the window of some kind of research equipment, based on the controls at the bottom of the photograph. It is not known who the man is, nor what is duties or responsibilities at NMRI are.
