The Aviation Physiology Training Division at the Naval Air Station Miramar, California, trains personnel from most of the fleet squadrons on the West Coast. The primary mission is to train fleet aviators in the use of survival equipment along with training the men in the use of oxygen equipment, ejection seats and aspects of high altitude physiology. Water survival, including a parachute and cockpit check-out in an underwater environment using the Dilbert Dunker Trainer, is included in the training program. This part of the training is required for all aircrewmen every two years. 16 June 1970
