It is the ice cream hour on a Coast Guard-manned transport moving out of the dangers of the Indian Ocean to a haven of safety. A line of little Polish war fugitives moves toward the big ice cream pails, where Coast Guardsmen pack their cups heavy with the kids favorite dish. It is their first ice cream in a year and a half and that is a long time between ice cream. The children are being transferred from Bombay, India. The exact date of this photograph is unknown.
