Little Faces That Have Forgotten How To Smile Even heaping dishes of ice cream--their first in 18 months--fail to coax smiles on the faces of these child victims of war. Taken aboard a Coast Guard-manned transport at Bombay, Indian, these Polish children are on their way to a refuge from the sufferings that have pursued them. In their eyes is all of the sorrow and tragedy of war. These orphans eagerly eat their ice cream, but, for the moment, it fails to relieve the heaviness in their hearts. The exact date of this photograph is unknown.
