USS Bismarck Sea (CVE-95) was commissioned on 20 May 1944. Bismarck Sea arrived off Iwo Jima on 16 February 1945. On 21 February 1945, she was struck by two Japanese suicide aircraft and subsequently sank with the loss of 318 men.
