F4F Wildcat and TBF Avenger aircraft of the USS Santee (CVE-29) HUK Group sank U-160, U-509, and U-43 in the Atlantic. She transferred to the Pacific where she participated in the Battle of Leyte Gulf (hit by a Kamikaze) and in the Okinawan campaign. S
