USS Spearfish (SS-190) was commissioned on 17 July 1939. During her 12th and last war patrol, Spearfish conducted photographic surveys of Iwo Jima prior to the landings. She was decommissioned on 22 June 1946 and subsequently scrapped. Gen. H. M. Smit
