FM-2 Wildcats launch form the USS Kitkin Bay (CVE-71), part of Taffy 3, to attack Kuritas Center Force during the Battle off Samar. Wildcats, TBM-1C Avengers, destroyers and destroyer escorts harassed the more powerful Japanese force.
