Three Lockheed PV-1 Venturas patrol the skies over Kiska in the Aleutian Islands during the invasion of the island on August 15, 1943. The first PV-1 squadron to deploy to the combat zone was VP-135, which arrived in Adak in the Aleutians in April 1943.
